Orthodontics is not just for children! Is it for you?
If you have a bite problem or are unhappy about gaps, crooked or protruding teeth, you may benefit from Orthodontics. Today, many adults request less conspicuous, clear braces. Braces identify you as someone who knows the value of a great smile!
How long will it take? Treatment may take a bit longer than that of a child's, but it is just as important - both for dental health and appearance. Please feel free to ask us for more information.
Is it worth it? Properly aligned teeth and jaws are crucial at any age to help protect against deterioration and tooth loss due to gum disease and to avoid the painful symptoms of Jaw Joint (TMJ) Disorder.

Dr. Papir is excited to announce the introduction of a new treatment called "Invisalign". A true breakthrough in orthodontics, Invisalign allows SOME adult patients to straighten their teeth without the use of braces. The system uses technology to direct a natural straightening process. It combines computer 3-D imaging and manufacturing with traditional, time-tested orthodontic principles.
First, Dr. Papir consults with the patient, writes a treatment plan, and makes a standard impression of the patient's teeth. Then the computer actually designs a series of appliances which move the teeth by small degrees into the desired position. The appliances, called "aligners" are clear polymer appliances that fit over the teeth like a glove.
Many patients, particularly adults, would like to change the appearance of their teeth but don't want to contend with the metal or clear braces that have been available up until now. The Invisalign system gives them an excellent alternative. It is safe, painless, and requires no shots, no grinding, no brackets, caps or veneers. Treatment time is about the same as that for traditional braces, but the patient needs fewer office visits. The appliances can be slipped in and out of the mouth, so there are no eating restrictions! And, best of all, they are practically invisible!
